Based at Green College, University of British Columbia, the society is co-organized by Matthew Evenden and Eagle Glassheim, and receives funding from Green College and NiCHE to support its programming.
NHS organizes monthly talks during term, field trips and workshops dealing with the broad themes of Nature, History and Society. Although our core constituency is found in the fields of environmental history and historical geography, our speakers and audience members come from a host of disciplinary and professional backgrounds.
NHS was initiated several years ago by Graeme Wynn and grew out of a graduate student reading group in environmental history. We welcome your participation!
