With the help of our amazing community of supporters, NiCHE managed to raise more than $13,000 during our 2024 Fundraising Campaign!
Thank you to everyone who donated in 2024! We couldn’t accomplish as much as we do with out you.
We set the goal of raising $14,000 in 2024, and made it 96% of the way with donations totalling $13,458.85! This is more than we’ve ever raised. Thank you to all our generous supporters!
If you forgot to make your donation, or missed the campaign for some reason, you can still donate through our Fundrazr page. You can also set up a recurring donation, so that you don’t need to remember to do so each year. Any amount makes a big difference!
You can also continue to support NiCHE all year by making a purchase from our online NiCHE Merchandise Shop, where you can order a variety of items featuring our 20th anniversary blue maple leaf logo! All proceeds go towards supporting NiCHE.
With the money we raised this year, we can continue to:
- provide a modest compensation to our social media editor and digital strategist
- pay our banking, accounting, and web-hosting fees
- cover the various publication expenses for our peer-reviewed journal, Papers in Canadian History and Environment (PiCHE), which published two new papers this year!
- offer honoraria to precariously employed contributors to The Otter blog
- and fund graduate student travel costs to attend the 2025 Canadian History and Environment Summer School (CHESS) in Hamilton
We are humbled by all the support we have received in 2024 and we are committed to continuing the hard work that has made NiCHE an important hub for environmental history and humanities. Thank you from the editorial boards of The Otter and PiCHE, and from the Executive Board.
