The York University Graduate History Student Association (GHSA) invites all to our Historian’s Craft conferences. The next Guest Speaker is Professor James Scott, from Yale University. Dr. Scott will be speaking next Wednesday, February 24th at 4 PM. The zoom link is: https://yorku.zoom.us/j/96990958548

James Scott is in the early stages of mapping out a book on “Rivers” and what Homo sapiens has done to them, with a particular focus on the Irrawaddy in Burma/Myanmar. Dr. Scott would ask you and your colleagues the question: “Is it possible to write a book about rivers narrated in the first person… of the river itself.”?  If it is possible, how might it be done? What models/forms/techniques exist for pulling it off?
