Juliano Bentes is an Amazonian artist-researcher, professor, performer, and cultural producer based in Belém, Pará, Brazil. He holds a PhD in Arts from the Federal University of Pará. His research and artistic practice engage performance, drag, queer ecology, trans studies, public memory, and Amazonian urban territories. A founding member of the Movimento Cultural das Themônias, he investigates how dissident bodies create presence, care, resistance, and collective imagination in contexts marked by climate vulnerability, coloniality, and symbolic and epistemic extractivism.
