New Audio Recordings for the Vancouver Earth Week Public Lecture

earthweekimagelarge_0This past Spring NiCHE members organized an Earth Week series of public lectures in public libraries across Canada. David Brownstein organized the Vancouver event and recorded the talks given by UBC PhD candidate and environmental historian, Philip Van Huizen, and historical geographer and B.C. Sierra Club and Greenpeace founder, Dr. Terry Simmons. These lectures drew the biggest crowd among the dozen events in Canada and hopefully will provide the model for future NiCHE public events.

Terry Simmons, “The Road to Earth Day: The History of the Environmental Movement in British Columbia” Vancouver Public Library Earth Week Lecture, (April 2011).

Phil Van Huizen, “The Road to Earth Day: The History of the Environmental Movement in British Columbia” Vancouver Public Library Earth Week Lecture, (April 2011).

Once again I would like to thank David, Terry and Philip for contributing to the first public series of lectures. If you would like to bring a library talk to your own city or town next year, please send me an email: jcliffo9@uwo.ca
