Editor’s Note: This multimedia project, managed by Jonatan Palmblad of the European Society for Environmental History (ESEH), offers scholars of environmental history valuable pathways to communicate and explore transnational connections. A postcard template can be found on the project’s website, and submissions may be made digitally or sent by mail. Please consider contributing to this exciting project!

The European Society for Environmental History (ESEH) is now inviting contributors for the second round of the project “Postcards for Unstable Times.”

The rules are simple: write a postcard and an accompanying text to the future from the present, the present from the past, the past from the future, addressing an environmental topic or issue related to the image. The postcards can be sent from anywhere in the world. With this creative project, we hope to put new perspectives to the unstable times we are currently living in.

The submission deadline is 31 May 2022, and you will find the full call and guidelines here. Successful submissions will be published on our Instagram account (@ eseh_postcards), which already features the postcards from the first round. If you have questions, send an email to postcards [@] eseh.org.
