Papers in Canadian History and Environment seeks long-form research papers (minimum 5000 words) that explore any aspect of the intersections of the environment and history in Canada. Our disciplinary lens is capacious and we invite work from scholars across the environmental humanities and social sciences.
When we review a submission, we consider a number of factors:
- Suitability of topic
- Significance of research findings
- Originality of argument
- Quality of research and writing
- Potential audience of readers
- Potential use of Web platform
Our publication uses endnotes (not in-text citations) and follows Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition. Authors are responsible for securing permission from the copyright holder for use of any illustrations, maps, or photographs that are taken from a source protected by copyright.
Papers in Canadian History and Environment publishes all papers with Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 international licenses.
