I am a PhD student in Geography at Memorial University. My research examines how mining has shaped northern communities, governance, and landscapes. I draw on archival and oral history methods, informed by critical resource geography and political ecology, to explore the lived experiences, infrastructures, and legacies of extraction across Alaska and the Arctic. I’m particularly interested in how residents and workers have engaged with industrial development, how mining infrastructures transformed everyday life, and how these histories continue to influence governance and reclamation in the present.
