Nicholas Miller
I am an Assistant Professor of Cross-Disciplinary Studies at East Tennessee State University. My research brings together environmental history, multispecies studies, folklore, and Indigenous studies to explore the relationships between humans, animals, landscapes, and waterways. I am particularly interested in how people understand and negotiate their relationships with the more-than-human world through history, culture, stories, and everyday encounters. Outside of my academic work, I enjoy exploring nature, getting out on the water, wandering around museums, and enjoying a nice pastry.
