Kateryna Rudenko is a Killam Scholar and a student in the Interdisciplinary PhD (IDPhD) program at Dalhousie University. Her research in the Ukrainian environmental humanities combines arts-based methods, ethnography, and history to explore traditional agricultural landscapes, particularly fruit orchards. She holds a Master of Environmental Studies (MES) from Dalhousie, where her thesis examined connections to Ukrainian land across distance, and a BA in International Relations from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Ukraine. Her writing has appeared in peer-reviewed and creative venues, including Human Ecology, and is forthcoming in Noha, a Ukrainian literary nonfiction magazine. She is a 2026–2027 Youth Ambassador with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC), a member of Rozviy, a Ukrainian youth climate organization advocating for a just green recovery in Ukraine, and a Young Professional with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
