Gillian Der 謝美華 is an independent researcher residing between Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsliel-Wautulth territory and St'at'imc territory.
She is interested in historical geographies of BC especially how they intersect with climate, gender, race, and coloniality.
Gillian's research is deeply informed by her practice as an artist and community organizer. She received her MA in geography from The University of British Columbia for her research on the 2023 Downton Lake Wildfire.
