Carmen Concilio is Full professor of English and Postcolonial literature at the University of Torino, Italy. She is the recipient of Canada-Italy Innovation Award 2021. She is former president of AISCLI (www.aiscli.it) and member of AISC (http://www.aiscan.net/). Her research in the environmental humanities include New Critical Patterns in Postcolonial Discourse. Historical Traumas and Environmental Issues (2012). She has co-edited Trees in Literatures and the Arts. Humanarboreal Perspectives in the Anthropocene (2021); she is author of numerous essays on blue humanities, oceans and whales, gardens, waste and wasted lives. More recently she guest edited Italian-Canadiana: The Traces We Leave: Italian-Canadian Writings and the New Millennium, Vol. 37 No. 1-2 (2023): University of Toronto, and co-edited Reframing Souths. Ecological Perspectives on the South in Literature, Film, and New Media (2025). She is editor at large of Accenti Magazine (Montreal) and she translated with Giulia De Gasperi an anthology of Italian-Canadian authors (2025, Les Flaneurs, Bari).
