Ski Like a Girl Podcast Launch Party for Season 2 – Canadian Olympians, Paralympians, and Women in Nordic Skiing

Thursday – 4 December 2025 – 12:00 pm MST

Ski Like A Girl Podcast Season 2 launch

Women have been long time participants and competitors in Nordic skiing in Canada, yet their history and stories often go untold. On the Ski Like a Girl Podcast, we seek to uncover and share these stories by digging into the lives of women in skiing. Who were these women and what are their stories?

In the all new Season 2, Ski Like a Girl Podcast follows the lives of Canadian Nordic skiers with a community of learners and leaders in recreation side-by-side with Olympians and Paralympians as elite sport athletes. Combining academic research from archives, oral history interviews, and other sources, this podcast series reveals insights into the lives of women and girls in Nordic sports, including cross country skiing, ski touring, biathlon, and ski jumping.

Join us on December 4, 2025 at 12:00 PM MST at the official launch party for Season Two of Ski Like a Girl Podcast. This virtual launch party is a chance to meet the hosts of the Ski Like a Girl Podcast – Dr. PearlAnn Reichwein, Professor, and PhD students Charlotte Mitchell, and Lyndsay Conrad – historians collaborating at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation. Join us to hear more about the new season and the historical research behind each episode. The webinar will introduce Season 2 with talks by its creators, episode teasers, and Q&A, and invited research commentary by Dr. Tara-Leigh McHugh, Canada Research Chair in Gender Equity in Sport and Physical Education and Professor at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Kinesiology. We invite you to join us as listeners and thank you for your support. Research is supported in part by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, and the University of Alberta President’s Grant for the Creative and Performing Arts. For more information on the podcast, please visit the Ski Like a Girl Podcast website.
