Climate Justice Ottawa is looking for stories that highlight the rich interconnected histories of the labour and environmental movements, past and present. Storytellers may share stories of such examples that they have experience working on or that they know of otherwise through 500-word stories or two-minute recordings of storytelling (give or take). If storytellers wish for their story to be accompanied by any imagery or photographs, we’d be happy to accept such material, too.
The vision for the event is to share storytellers’ contribution alongside other stories, both historical and ongoing, that can inspire and educate people about solidarity between those advocating for labour and for the environment. Our teach-in will be part of a series of “Month of May Day” events put on by a variety of groups across Ottawa, with the broader goal of organizing community and celebrating collective struggle.
If you are interested and/or would like to discuss any support we can provide to storytellers, please contact Climate Justice Ottawa at: climatejusticeottawa@gmail.com
