Historicizing Adaptation Blog Series

Irrigation is often cited as a technique of adaptation likely to become increasingly important in light of unabated climate change. The “Water and the Modern Prairies” project focuses on historicizing irrigation on the Canadian Prairies/Northern Great Plains. But the project is also concerned with historicizing ideas of adaptation. A first effort at this took place through a multi-author blog series published on The Otter (NiCHE’s blog) from February to May 2025.
