Janice Vis is a PhD candidate and teaching assistant in the department of English and Cultural Studies at McMaster University. Her research engages with several academic fields, including the Environmental Humanities, Critical Animal Studies, and Composition Theory. Her ongoing doctoral project looks at animal tracks and traces within a framework of multi-species writing, and her work considers how our habits of reading and (re)writing stories can shape our relationships with other creatures.
