The newest book in the NiCHE-University of Calgary Press series, The First Century of the International Joint Commission, was recently released. There will be a launch on Thursday, January 23, from 4:00-6:00 at the University of Toronto, followed by a reception (Campbell Conference Facility, 1 Devonshire Place). All are welcome. Co-edited by NiCHE member Daniel Macfarlane, and featuring contributions from an interdisciplinary group of environmental scholars, this collection examines the history of the International Joint Commission, which was created by the 1909 Boundary Waters Treaty and is a binational Canada-US body that oversees border environments, especially border waters.
