I’m pleased to announce that the 2015 Melville-Nelles-Hoffmann Lecture in Environmental History will be held on Wednesday, November 18. A reception will start at 4:15pm in the private dining room at the Schulich Executive Learning Centre and the lecture will begin at 4:45pm.

This year’s lecturer is James Daschuk from University of Regina. He is the author of the award-winning best-seller, Clearing the Plains: Disease, Politics of Starvation, and the Loss of Aboriginal Life. Professor Daschuk’s lecture will reflect on his book and the implications of environmental history research for the 200th anniversary commemoration of the birth of John A. Macdonald and the upcoming 150th anniversary of Confederation.
