Gian Marco Visconti
Gian Marco Visconti – is a Canadian poet, audio storyteller, and collage artist of mixed Arbëreshë and South Asian ancestry, born and raised in amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton, AB). He was awarded the Glass Buffalo English Poetry Prize in 2016 and the SAAG Writing Prize in 2019, and longlisted for CBC Poetry Prize in 2018. His writing has been published in Glass Buffalo, The Polyglot, and Ismaili Canada Magazine, and featured at the Edmonton Poetry Festival and the Festival of Literary Diversity (The FOLD). A long-time public radio enthusiast, his audio stories have appeared on CJSR FM and the Edmonton City as Museum Project (ECAMP) Podcast. Gian Marco holds a Master of Library & Information Studies from the University of Alberta and a Master of Planning from the University of Calgary. As a librarian and urbanist, his research interests include placemaking, public art, and heritage conservation.
