In 2015, colleagues of the late Richard Jarell organized a conference at York University in his memory to honour his many contributions to the field of the history of science and technology in Canada. What emerged from that conference were a number of papers that examined the intersections of science, technology, and modernity in Canadian history.

Tina Adcock from Simon Fraser University and Edward Jones-Imhotep from York University edited those papers and published them in a new book called Made Modern: Science and Technology in Canadian History. This episode features an interview with Tina Adcock, Edward Jones-Imhotep, and Blair Stein that explores some of the emerging scholarship on the history of science and technology in modern Canada.
