It snowed and rained in Washington DC, but that did not deter a hardy bunch of environmental historians. Panels and round tables in the morning were followed by field trips and self-guided wandering in the afternoon. I spent the morning in round table sessions covering big ideas in environmental history. Then I struck out on my own to explore the wilds of Washington at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum.
